Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking experienced Enrollment Specialists to support the annual Open Season enrollment process. This position is responsible for processing health plan enrollment transactions, maintaining accurate member records, and ensuring timely, high-quality enrollment services in a fast-paced, production-driven environment.

The ideal candidate will have strong enrollment, claims, customer service, or data entry experience, excellent computer skills, and the ability to learn new systems quickly while maintaining productivity and quality standards.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Process subscriber and dependent enrollments for multiple lines of business.
  • Verify enrollment status and eligibility.
  • Update and maintain member enrollment records.
  • Process enrollment changes, terminations, and other enrollment events.
  • Research and resolve enrollment system discrepancies.
  • Ensure accuracy while handling confidential member information (PHI).
  • Meet established productivity and quality standards.
  • Navigate multiple systems simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Provide excellent customer service and support business objectives.

 

Required Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of experience in one or more of the following:
    • Enrollment
    • Customer Service
    • Claims Processing
    • Data Entry
  • Minimum 18 months of experience in customer service or claims processing in a production-driven environment.
  • Strong data entry and organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-motivated with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to quickly learn new processes and systems.
  • Comfortable working with confidential information and protected health information (PHI).

 

Technical Skills

Candidates must have strong computer proficiency, including:

  • Microsoft Windows
  • Microsoft Word
  • Microsoft Excel
  • Microsoft Outlook
  • Internet research
  • Email communication
  • Ability to navigate multiple software applications simultaneously
  • General computer troubleshooting and navigation skills

Training Requirements

  • Mandatory onsite training for 8 weeks beginning September 14.
  • Mandatory onsite orientation and system setup on September 10.
  • Attendance during training is mandatory.
  • Candidates are expected to report on time every day throughout training.
  • Successful completion of training, knowledge assessments, and system proficiency evaluations is required to continue the assignment.

 

Performance Expectations

After successful completion of training, candidates will be expected to maintain:

  • 7–10 forms processed per hour
  • 45–65 forms processed per day
  • 900–1,300 forms processed per month
  • 90% or higher productivity
  • 85% or higher quality score

  • Onsite position in downtown Washington, DC.
  • Fast-paced, production-driven environment.
  • High-volume processing of confidential healthcare enrollment information.
